Casey's Travel Bug: first placed in I-40 TB Hotel & Cache - East Bound in Arkansas. He first visited South Carolina and then flew back to the south and enjoyed attending 2 events--the Alabama Open Invitatioonal and the Central Alabama Geoholics Anonymous Meeting. He then was spotted again in a 3rd event, but he may have overdone it at the 4th Annual Alabama Birthday Celebration because he hasn't been heard from since October 2007.

I'm Casey Cardinal--the odd-ball of the Cardinal Family because I don't really like geo-caching. Hey, don't get mad at me--geocaching isn't for everyone, you know. Some of us out here in the world have other interests! Yup, that's right, there's more to life than geocaching. I constantly have to remind the rest of my family that life does exist outside of the geocaching world!

BUT, I must tell you that after attending the two geo-parties in Alabama, I was almost convinced that maybe geocaching is the most exciting thing in the world, but then the excitement of the party died away and I again came to my senses and am now trying to get back to my normal life.

So, you may ask, what in the world do I enjoy that doesn't involve geocaching? Well, my list of interests is very long, but I will share just a few with you here on this page:

I love to travel and my most memorable vacation was to Sapsucker Woods at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. I had the privilege of talking with a real live cardinal here. I was the only one in the family who got to talk with Mr. Real-live Cardinal because the rest of the family were too busy trying to see if there were any caches nearby--what a waste of time (in my opinion).

Mr. Real-live Cardinal gave me a tour of the place and we flew along the trails and he introduced me to several of his feathered friends--an American Redstart, Baltimore Oriole, Yellow Warbler, and Easter Peewee, just to name a few. We finished the tour at the bird-feeding station where we enjoyed a variety of seeds provided by the staff of Cornell. It was a delicious treat, but a very popular spot and we had to dart in and out and quickly grab a bite between the grackles, blackbirds, and goldfinches.
